Rose City Comic Con
Bellingham Comic Con
So, This is the time of year I always wake up from my fog and look around and realize the year's 3/4ths over. That means just 3 months until the next tax season rolls around. Two months of craziness before consumerism rules the world with carols and bright lights. Blah, blah, you know the drill.
Just wanted to let you all know that Em and I are actually doing a lot to get back on track. I'm on my way to actually having a comics buffer again, and we are hoping to have some new small items for sale in the coming year.
On the how-crazy-is-Crystal scale, it has been determined by certified therapists that I am still crazy, but it's manageable. Oh... I hadn't mentioned that before now, had I? Well, I might go into more details later, but let me just say that YES, that was partially serious. I have been in therapy for around 6 months now, and it has helped, but it's basically going to be something I deal with for the rest of my life.
The good news is I AM dealing with it, which is much better than the state I was in this time last year.
Thanks again for reading, and I hope you continue to enjoy the stories from us here at Wayward Studios :)
So, for the past YEAR, my husband and I have been trying to get a house. At first, it was financing issues, and then, early in the spring of 2013, it became a matter of there just NOT BEING ANY HOUSES. We would wait and wait, and nothing would show up on the daily MLS lists.
This kept up for around six months, with a house or two we could afford trickling in every week or so, only to be either terrible, tiny (we're talking 600 square feet in some cases...) or snatched up in HOURS.
No exaggeration. Hours. It put me in a frenzied state of perpetual email-checking that made my work and health suffer. Eventually we decided to not renew our contract with our realtors, and we left it alone for a few months.
In November, we took up the hunt again, and were much luckier than before, and had a better pre-approval to work with. We bid on a few houses and got turned down, but by some fluke, this house came BACK on the market after the initial bidder turned it down, and we got to start negotiations with the bank (It's a foreclosure)
It took about a month and a half from start to finish, but we got the keys on February 3rd! There are a lot of little things that need to be fixed on it, but so far it's coming together quickly, and it will be so nice to not be renting anymore! Just think of all the art space! :)
Went and updated my twitter account today. I'm trying to actually post occasionally on there. I really don't consider myself a highly interesting person, but I'm learning to fake it...
You can follow me aroudn the internet here:
(I don't think there's a more direct link for Google Plus. Google plus confuses the heck out of me...)

My first News post for Skyborne! How awesome is that? This comic has been eating my soul and my life since two years ago, and really starting chewing harder last fall when I finished Aspect Book 1. Whew!
